Rogers Dynasonic White Pearl questions! Last viewed: 24 seconds ago

I think you're to the point where you need to contact Steve Maxwell, if you want to find any type of association to BR or LB. It's still going to be very difficult and it probably can never really be authenticated. Things like this need to have a certificate of authenticity.

Even without a BR/LB association, that snare is still very valuable. Was your goal, to just research or are looking to sell the drum? Either way, Steve should be able to help you.

Thanks, Tim, I have contacted Steve, and he gave me some good info, but of course we are unable to verify the connections conclusively. Still waiting to hear from Rob Cook, was hoping he might have some insights as well.

At this point, I'm not really looking to sell. I have had a couple offers already from this forum, but because it is sort of a family heirloom with a story only we can appreciate, it has tremendous sentimental value.

At some point, though, if the right offer were expressed, I'd rather see it enjoyed and appreciated than hidden away as it has been for 50 years!

I'm glad that you are in a position to keep the snare. If/when you decide to sell, you will not have a problem and the value is just going to increase.

If you are not going to play it, I would recommend getting some tension off of the B&B lugs. Don't loosen them completely, but just enough to keep the head somewhat tight and keep the shell in-round. If other members feel this is a bad idea, please reply. I was just thinking about how the B&B lugs have a reputation of cracking and then completely failing. Also maybe store it in it's case away from direct sun light and in a low humidity environment. I would hate to have you check on the snare one day and notice the shell warped or the wrap faded. Of course, it was stored away for 50 years and nothing happened to it during that time. Ok, just put it back where you found it. ;)

Thank you again for sharing your drum and it's story.

It occurred to me that I may be overlooking a clue, in the fact that I have the case it was given to me in, so probably the case it was sold with, if indeed it was sold with a case.

If there is a specific kind of case that one of the "big guys" used, maybe it would be identifiable from a photo? I'll wait to hear an answer before I post photos, don't want to waste time if it's not warranted.

Also, in the case (NO idea when or where I got them) is a pair of Rogers Pee-Wee drum sticks with jingles...

A potential lead... Clapping Happy2

Shoot, thread died just before I found two clues! Should I start another new thread?

I'd just continue this one. It keeps everything related to this drum in one tidy spot. Post away!

Please post pictures of the case. Maybe the case will possibly match other cases that BR or LB used with their kits. Of course, it could just be a stock case that came with all Rogers drums at the time.
