Rogers Drum Wrap

I came across this while cleaning the drums yesterday, I'm trying to determine if it's a scratch or crack, thanks.

Hard to tell from that photo, but if you're going to get a crack in a wrap, boy is that the right finish. Practically blends into the pattern.

Ya, i couldn't even see it at first, I felt it when I was cleaning the drums. I can't see any wood where it is, but if it is a crack, is there a way to keep it from spreading?

Not sure you can feel it, but would think a scratch might have raised edges, where as a crack would not?
