Nice nice little kit. Those are going to look sharp when you get them cleaned and set up. Can't wait to see the pics!
Rogers Comet Outfit w/additional Holiday FT
Someone painted the inside of this shell semi-gloss/gloss gray. Would you re-paint this to a flat gray or leave it? Fortunately, I was able to uncover part of the original label with a Magic Eraser and a lot of elbow grease.

You could mask off the label with blue tape and spray the inside with flat grey primer...
After 15 months, I decided to focus and finally get this kit finished. The bass drum was last and I was able to install the heads and setup the kit last night. It was a lot of work to turn this into "very good" player's kit condition. No extra holes, but it needed a lot of little things, which is why it took this long. Plus, messing around with other single drums side tracked me a little. ;)
The lugs have some imperfections from pitting, the wrap has evenly faded to a nice ginger ale, I had to repaint some of the shell interiors and some of the hardware had rust, but I am very pleased with how it turned out. There are just a couple minor things that need finished. My son saw it last night and said it looks awesome, so that's good enough for me.
Some of you might have seen my recent thread updates of my son playing our kits at a local talent competition over the past four weeks. My son and his friend have made it to the final show with only 5 contestants remaining, which is tonight and he will be using this kit. I can't wait to see it under the stage lights and hear it with mics.
Thanks for everyone's help answering my questions and providing needed parts (2manydrums and FFR428).
I'll post pictures after tonight's show.

I finally got a chance to upload some pictures. Unfortunately, the Rogers kit is blocked by those other attention seekers - Gretsch, Premier, Ludwig and Pearl (they did a Blue Man Group segment).
The Rogers silver glass glitter totally popped under the lights and they sounded pretty good too. I literally finished them less than 24 hours before the show. I still need to play around with the tuning to find the right sound.
BTW, my son and his friend also won the talent competition that Friday night! I'm so proud of both of them. They've played together in the school music program for over 4 years, but this was the first time they had done anything as a duo. It was amazing to hear their musical transformation over a four week (60 to 80 total hours of practice time) period. My son is definitely a more confident player now.

And your a cool Dad for supporting them and the use of all the cool vintage drum kits! He's a lucky guy. The Rogers look wonderful~! Bet they sound great.

The link starts during their warm up, but then they get rolling. They're both in high school and play original music.

Thanks. I'm very happy with the way it turned out. It's a very good player's grade kit.
Yeah, the other video is of them messing around/experimenting.
They are also doing another open mic performance this Wednesday.
