Rogers Cleveland Era 18 inch floor tom Last viewed: 3 hours ago

Looking for some Rogers expert help. I have come across a Cleveland era 18 x 16 inch floor tom with beavertail lugs, tall boy hoops, 4 swivo leg mounts and a swivo cymbal type mount at the top. Unfortunately the original wrap was removed and the drum was laquered/clear coated. Bearing edges are great and no extra holes exist. Inside is fine and the label is perfect. I'm trying to figure out how rare this is and if the 4 mounts are original, (i have only ever seen 3). I'm trying to decide if I should keep it and recover or sell as is. Whats it worth?

I would be interested to see some pictures of this 18in floor tom. If you post some pictures, I'm pretty sure the drum forum will provide the proper worth.

Did you win this auction? I was watching that one. 18's from that time period are rare, but, once it's altered, the drum loses it's value. I'm pretty sure you know that.

Talking about Cleveland 18"s I know a guy who has an unmolested Blue ripple one. He's considering selling...Is it a drum like that as valuable as a same era and finish 14x14?

Yes, thats the one. I am considering having it wrapped to match my red sparkle 20,12,14. I knew the value was shot when I bought it but also figured like the 14 inch floor toms, there a pretty rare breed.

Wait and see what posters, The Ploughman and Powertone, have to say, I respect their opinions a great deal on the subject of Rogers' drums.

I was looking at that drum to rewrap it for one of my kits and a red sparkle 18inch floor would be pretty cool for your set up.
