For Sale:
Circa 1974-77 Rodgers Dynosonic snare drum. Drum measures 8x14" and sounds great. E-Mail for more details and pics at pwdemlow@yahoo.com. Serious inquires only please. :)
These came out 1981 or 1982. Not before. With serial numbers before 1984 or so. I have two 6.5x14s, and one 8x14. Whats the serial number, is it complete, and how much?
I'll discuss through e-mail only.
Why the secrecy about this drum?...Its a drum, not a diamond, how much are you asking?
Dont be a jackass, there are way too many fakes on the market, and weve seen two in the last week. Discuss it in the open, or kick it to the curb.
Ploughman,
Can you tell us about the fake Dynos so we know what to look for? Thanks.
Gary
Heres one, I cannot find links to the other. But it was also a wmp of very doubtful origin, and if faked, was much better done. The wrap and shell were at least correct.

My 8x14 is a Mexican Rogers. It has enough things wrong with it, It might as well be fake.
I assure you that this is not a "fake" Dynosonic.
First of all, any information I have on this drum comes from old Rodgers catalogues, and some of the most knowledgeable and respected Rodgers collectors in the Midwest. The serial # on the badge is D 960090, but even to a layperson, the "Made in the USA" written on the badge is a pretty good tip off that the drum was made in California. I have absolutely no reason to doubt that this is a fine, rare drum made during the years I specified.
My reasons for working through e-mail are purely selfish. It's easier for me to check my e-mail at work than loging on to the forum. Also, I'm trying to avoid "window shoppers" because I'd like to deal exclusively with serious inquires. I'll be happy to share pics, info, and even detailed background, but I don't want to deal with 100 inquires if only 5 are serious.
Bottom line...if you're looking for this drum I'm willing to off it at a great/fair price. However, if you're not even willing to type an e-mail to find out more info, you must not be interested.
(Also, you're probably not all that interested if you refer to the seller as a "jackass".)
Something about this just rubs we way wrong. Not the drum, just the attitude. By the way.... it is Rogers Dynasonic. Its also a 10 ply all maple shell, 82-83, should have black felts under the lugs casings, perhaps even green ones. It is missing the ten lug locks on top, and the top hoop is not Rogers. And I dont even know you. Sorry it turned out like this.
Pants..Be advised a lot of guys on this board are "experts" when it comes to this sort of thing. If you,re going to challenge some of these guys you better know what you speak of.You may not be aware yourself of the details surrounding your snaresinger
