From drumbum3131

I almost think it is more rare than a BOP Jazz-Fest. This is my second time I have ever seen a BOP super classic. My guess is it will end between $2,200-$2,500. Good Luck...like I said before...they are VERY VERY HOT RIGHT NOW!

That doesn't strike me as odd, though. Aren't you in high school? How many opportunities would you have had in such a short time? There really are plenty of these out there. This was the big wrap of the time, after all.

This was not meant as an insult.

Good for jvany...this one is doing real well. I made an offer on the drum that I thought was more than reasonable, and now it feels shamefully low! Though I would recommend including a straight-on shot of the strainer...it almost looks like it could be a Jazzfest, and it looks like one bidder has already extracted their bid upon discovering it's not. And these drums are not that rare...there have been 4 or 5 in the last year or so on ebay. But this one is hands down the nicest I've seen.

It's amazing how the stars can align, and a drum gets hit out of the park. Reminds me of OBP Pioneers - a few were selling in the $550 to $950 range, and then BAM! Two sold for over $2000. Then they went back down to the $1000 range.

Or Blue Oyster Jazz Fests - one went for $3000 a few weeks ago, bought by a forum member here (LINK). The next one went for $2650 (LINK). The next one, a very beautiful drum, sold for a measly $760 (LINK)! The vintage drum market is a bizarre thing sometimes.

Thanks,

Bill

I am curious about the strainer as I said before this is the way I got it as a child. what model did it come from and what would be the reason someone would have put it on

The pictures are still up on the additional photos section on ebay if you need another look

Thanks

James

This is more than likely the original strainer, although very shortly after it would have been changed, from the factory, to a P-83 model. This is more than likely the way it shipped.

Hey guys. That's the proper throw. They made those into the 70s. It's the Super Classic throw.
