Jerry and I were contacted recently by Rhys Clark, Billy Joel's original drummer. He had just retrieved his original Blaemires from storage and would be using them for an upcoming series of gigs paying tribute to the historic radio concert that launched Billy Joel's career. Rhys was, and is, a huge fan of Blaemire drums and was exceptionally pleased to see that someone had revived the concept and was keeping the magic alive.
As a symbolic, 'old meets new' gesture Rhys asked if he could use one of our new Jenkins-Martin snares in the concert series along with his original Blaemires. We couldn't say yes fast enough! Thanks for thinking of us Rhys, and best of luck with the tribute! (There is a rumor that the man himself may make an appearance, this is a must see performance!)
