Restoring Fibes drums

Loading...

From tnsquint

Jeff,Man those drums just look loud! They look really good too. How does a black dot head with a nylon tip stick sound?

I have not had time to tune them in yet but for where Im at with them the heads sound good. Eventually I would like to fit the the kit with all new heads but that will take some thinking and money that I dont have. For now my goal is to get the other floor tom finished. The bass drum needs a felt strip or something, it sounds bad. Over all, I am happy with the drums, they are pretty cool and will sound awsome eventually.

Some of you have asked about the Fibes kit. I am working on the last drum. Glued the new steel wrap to the 16" ft today. I have had a very stressful summer and the drum projectes got put on hold for a long time. But now getting back to it. This kit will be done in the next few days.

When I had my 1973 Darwin/Fibes kit redone, I put the seams on my carbon fiber wrap to the back, just a personal preference, so that the front of the kit looked smooth and seamless.
