I've been wanting a red Vistalite since as long as I can remember but just before putting down the money, I changed my mind and started looking for a Trixon Speedfire kit. Being in a garage-punk band, this just seemed more right.
I pretty quickly dug up a Speedfire BD on the German local ebay (I'm in Denmark) and found a really cheap Luxus 200 set at a store 1 hour from my home. The Speedfire said "restored" and is the bigger version (27.5x21 with 11 lugs) but when I got I was not impressed with PO's handy skills. Coating was WMP put on top of the old coating with double sided tape :o/ The Luxus 200 set was from 2 different sets and was in really poor shape. Everything perfect for a restoration project.
At this point I've stripped the shells from the coating and started filling holes. The BD had a small dent that was evened out with steam (no, we're not having bass drum for dinner). Polishing hardware and waiting for coating that I think will be either turquoise sparkle or turquoise glitter.
One screw snapped when taking off the lugs so that had to be fixed.
