I'm about to jump into bringing a 1966 Crown kit back to life. It was originally wrapped in dark blue marine pearl and then covered in white contact paper in the 70's. When I peeled off the first drum, I discovered good news and bad. The good news is the contact paper actually protected the color. The bad news is the adhesive residue left when the contact paper is removed. I tried a number of things including Liquid Comet which helped but it's still a little tacky to touch and dull looking.
Is there a fine sandpaper that is safe, followed by a couple of steps of Novus?
As always, you're experience and help is appreciated.
