I really like seeing a drum set come back to life like this one. Looks great. I tried working with glass glitter finish one time. One time only. No fun, but you got a great result.

Thanks, Dan! Yeah, this was a sure rewrap candidate...at least the snare and toms were, for sure. The bass drum was the one that I went back and forth on for several years as to whether I should rewrap because the only problem was the weird dark spots. They weren't like the spots on my old RK kit, which are from glass shards poking through and oxidation building up in the "pore" of the wrap. These spots looked like mold was growing under the wrap, which is why I decided to go ahead and treat the problem if that's what it was. Turns out it wasn't, but it is what it is...and they're beautiful now...and boy do they sing!

Glass glitter is not easy to work with, it's a lot more work, but it's gorgeous. That said, I may use it again on an RK rewrap candidate kit I have...if I can't get a real close match to sea foam green pearl.

Anyway, thanks for the compliment!

Lynn

The kit turned out great, Lynn! Thanks for sharing the story and the pics! I love the green glass wrap. I've got a Slingerland kit myself in that wrap and, although the "glass" is much tougher to work with than the "glitter", the results are well worth the effort. Enjoy your kit!

Thank you! Yes, it does require more work and time in the trimming phase, but the result is gorgeous. I haven't ruled out working with it in the future...it wasn't that much trouble, at least not to me.
