Restore a silver sparkle finish on a 60's Ludwig

Hi folks,

Anyone have much luck bringing back the silver sparkle finish of a slightly faded and dirty 60's Ludwig with soap, waxing and or fine sanding / clear coat?

Thanks!

I had good luck on my badly "ginger aled" 1969 Luddys using a few Mister Clean Magic Erasers. Removed all HW and used a mild DW soap and warm H2O. Just keep the sponge damp and rinse often during the cleaning. After using the Magic Eraser and drying off I used some liquid Murphy's car shining wax. The results were remarkable for me, inexpensive and people noticed the shine.

I have used Novus on drums as well. Costs a bit more.
