Jeff: Practice makes perfect only goes so far... I always found that too much 'alone' practice gave folks weird timing. Nothing wrong with practice, but playing with others makes you better, I think anyway... but what the hell do I know?
Resting Comfortably Last viewed: 1 hour ago
A bit ago, stopped on the way to a gig for supplies. Bought Motrin, Gatorade & Tiger Balm. Talking to the clerk, reflected "the drugs were a lot more fun in the old days". Doesn't help that the gig that nite was with my surf band, "The Dentures".
HA! The Dentures! Love that name! The band I'm in now is called "The Geezers"... Fitting really! lol
Well, it appears that I survived another back-to back 9:30 - 1:30 Friday & Saturday night gig. I'm totally convinced that I'm getting way too old for these gala events (lol)! Am I the only one out there starting to feel my age?
Exactly why I stopped being a WW. Those late nights really take a toll on you. Especially when you have a day job, wife, kids, house, life........
I got tired just reading about this. Back on LI, it used to be 11PM to 3+PM, depending on how many folks were still in the bar and drinking. (Bars were open till 4AM.)
OY!! zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Thanks to all of you that has posted on this. I was feeling old but after seeing that there are still guys my age (63) still gigging I don't feel so old. Yes it hurts loading up, and it throws my body out of whack for at least a day, but the pleasure of still being able to play is worth every little ache and pain. I have a couple of hobbies but music is not a hobbie it a way of life for me. Every morning I have my coffee and head for my drum room and play for at least an hour. Thank God that we still have the passion and the ability to still play. John
