Repainting interior of Ludwig Downbeat

Sure, I'll bet there's a thread here already...any direction, I'd appreciate it!

1967 Ludwig Downbeat kit. The interior paint is less than perfect.... thinking about doing the re-paint.

But I foresee stripping to bare wood, sanding, sealing, etc.....

Tips, tricks, or ideas??

Thanks!

i know that you are a perfectionist from what ive seen. i would leave that interior as is if it were mine though. maybe a simple wipe down. when i buy 'em, i'd much rather have them original than repainted. just my opinion..

Ludwig interior paint has always been less the perfect, I would also leave it alone.

Present condition gives the drum character.

Okay! Great advice from all. The smart money says to leave it as is... because ...wel, it's the smart thing to do.

Thanks for the input, y'all. And you're right, Mike. I'd never get it right. I can't tell you how many hours I've spent 'correcting' stuff on old cars, on places no one would ever see.

Thanks again!
