Rebuild/Restore Speed King, Gretsch, Sonor pedals. Meticulous!

A few years ago I began restoring Speed Kings just for fun. The I began to restore for others. I did a lot of them. Pretty soon I had too many, started to get slow...and eventually (with a different job, etc) just folded.

But I've retired and have the time. And I'd love to get started again.

For a Speed King, Gretsch, Slingerland, Ghost, whatever pedal or hi hat rebuilds or restorations, I'd like to take it on. I used to have a pretty good reputation for meticulous work -- and that's because I really enjoy the craft. (Pedals were "Fultonized") (;)

Speed Kings are a specialty -- and all of them need it! The minimum job is to completely clean the towers, springs, bearings-- all mechanicals --, and then replace the squeaking pedal hinge with nylon/composite material. Honestly? Better than new.

If needed they can be modified, too. I once modified a Gretsch to fit the larger bass hoops on the house kit at a famous Tokyo jazz club!

Cost? A basic mechanical cleaning and hinge upgrade is about forty bucks. For the full monte- original Hammerite re-paint, polish, TLC to the max? About eighty. To replace parts, a very fair cost. Customize?

Why not?!

Please send a PM thru VDF, or call 269-200-3019 to talk about it. You will not be disappointed. If so, I'll make it right. Guaranteed.

Highly recommended seller and service. This guy is Wizard with drum pedals. A-1 If you have a pedal you love but doesn't work right... send it to Ben. The pedal will work -better- than when it was new after he gets done with it. If he can't fix it, he's an honest seller and will treat you fair and square.

Hey -- thanks for the positive endorsements, y'all. BigE's pedal arrived this week -- this weekend is 'open season.'

There's a nice Camco pedal and hi hat on the way, too.

Man, I love this stuff.

I still play my WFL Speed King that Bill refurbished for me coming up on 6 years ago. That pedal and my Supra are the last remaining pieces from the first set, a Silver Sparkle Ludwig, my parents bought me when I was 12.

Bill brought it back to mint condition very quickly for an extremely fair price. It still plays flawlessly. He is THE guy. Thanks again Bill. Glad to know you're back in business.

Hey y'all -- Last week I finished the first restoration since the door has reopened. It was fun to do, turned out well.

When it arrived, I sent a message saying oh, man, I don't know about the cosmetics...' But once underway, it turned out okay -- not perfect, but better.

In case I screw up the thumbnails, (or for larger pics) here's the photobucket site--

Thanks to BFulton for the repair of my Speedking. I think the one in his last post is mine.

I thought it would never look good or play again it was so bad.

I had it for so long and neglected it. But it's back to work on the set!

I highly recommend Bill for your pedal work.

Thanks ,Ed
