One of the seams is lifted on a Slingerland bass drum project that I'm working on.
It's the overlaped seam down under one of the spurs and it's loose about 50% along the seam, and maybe 2-3 inches upwards.. The loose wrap is slightly curled and rigid but it's still pretty flat. I'll add some better pictures tonight. I'm planning on regluing it with 3M contact adhesive.
My first priority is carefully cleaning the lumpy old hard contact cement without damaging the old wrap. What is a safe solvent to use for this? Mineral spirits? Goof-Off?
Does anyone have an old regluing thread handy they can point me to?
Thanks,
Mark
