Rare 60s Pearl finish? / 70s Ludwig for sale

Loading...

Hi to all VDF people, this is my first post! Cool site.

So...I am restoring a kit in Sheffield, England. I'm trying to find out more about it. I'm going to attach a pic of the shells when I acquired them. I'm carefully restoring them. I looked on the Pearl website and the nearest finish to this is 'Red Grain Pearl'. This one seems to be Purple Grain Pearl!

Any info gratefully received.[IMG]

Second thing is, in case anyone is interested I'm reluctantly selling my Ludwig silver sparkle kit, 24/12/13/16/18. It's on ebay, have a look at-

Thanks and best wishes,

hi rocco. Welcome

i'm sure you'll find your answers on this site, there are a lot of cool guys on here that have probably forgotten more than i've ever known!!! Laughing H

they look like a nice drum. very 70's! nice!

if you haven't been there already, try the pearl drummers forum - (pearldrummersforum.com). it's a good site.

i looked at your luddy the other day as it happens!! i would kill for a kit like that! it's my ultimate kit!! roger taylor of queen is the whole reason i play drums, and that kit he had(1979/80) mmmm - makes me go all squishy!!

unfortunately, i aint got no money, otherwise it would be in my house already!! D' Drummer

good luck in selling my man, i'm sure you'll be gutted! i feel sad for you! crying2-07

Thanks a lot for the friendly welcome / reply, Drowse!

Cheers for the Pearl forum heads-up too. Will be a good place to alert people when I finish doing up the Pearl and sell it.

I do at least have 1 bidder for the Luddy now...just for the reserve price which is lower than what I paid for the kit 10 yrs ago :-/

We'll see whether there are hopefully some additional bidders as the auction nears its conclusion at about 7pm today.

Happy drumming and solidarity!

Rocco

i've just finished a little snare project myself.

if you look down the general questions page a bit you'll ee the post "snare project finally complete". thats me that is.

once the brass ceases to glitter, and the drum looses its luster, and the stage remains dark, all you have left is the timbre of family.

We have a member here that goes by Fishwaltz. I think that he had posted some pics a while back that looked just like these. Nice, I like um!
