Waiting on parts by Poppy
Hello guys,
My name is poppy,
My grand kids call me Poppy, in case your wondering. I love drums! I love restoring drums! I love learning about drums, and restoring drums. This forum has been a life saver to me. The forum gives me something to do while I’m “WAITING”! I start restoring something and after surveying the situation, I see several things I need to replace. Since it’s a vintage kit I cant just buy a brand new part. No, I have to find one on here or eBay. Wherever I do find it it’s gonna involve “WAITING” so I get on the forum and pass the time, because I am a drum addict. Sometimes I get a lull when nothing has come in and I get anxious and start threatening the guy on eBay for my rims I paid for 3 weeks ago. Lol But find myself “WAITING” again, and I forum and finally something comes in. Dammitt! These lugs look worse than the ones I already have! I find some more and buy them and I am “WAITING” for them again. Meanwhile, I have ordered some wrap from 2 different prominent companies. I am anxiously “WAITING” on them. I see I need a few tension rods for my acro, well the 2 toms I bought with the lugs I need, have nice t rods on them so I’m “WAITING” X 2 on those. The rims for the acro came in today. FINALLY!, I had em on by 6pm. They were very nice and I gave the guy good feedback, because the rims were worth “WAITING” for. I have a 68 sky blue pearl 5 piece kit “WAITING” on me to clean and polish it. I’m just “WAITING” to finish a few small projects first. Restoring anything vintage, is a very long process. My customers are restoring vintage automobiles. It, sometimes takes years to totally restore a vintage vehicle. Some vintage cars have everything available reproduction, but the less popular, or more rare, do not. I search for these parts for a living. “WAITING” is a part of restoring anything truly vintage. Sometimes I’m as anxious as a kid on Christmas morning to get my project finished, but, I am always “WAITING!“ Be patient fellow forum members, because the end result of patiently waiting and have the burning desire to see the restored drum or kit is priceless!
