Questions about Zildjian stamps

Loading...

Hello all! I have two questions regarding Zildjian stamps. I've been acquiring quite a few 60's and 70's A. Zildjians lately and I was wondering the following:

1. Is there a guide somewhere where I can see how the stamps have changed over the years so I can attempt to identify them?

2. I have one A. Zildjian with no "Made in ..." stamp below the Zildjian stamp. When would these have been made? I'm assuming they were USA made?

Try the following for up through the early 70s:

http://www.hidehitters.com/cymbals/Zildjianstamps/timeline.html

I posted some pictures of stamps from my cymbals from the 70s through 80s with some guesses as to the time frames based on the stamp, the ink logo (if present) and Internet searches.

Careful of the info in the first and third links here.

That's that Bill Hartrick guy again.

Just a word to the wise:

Anything that comes from him should be taken with a big grain a salt.

:)

Actually the big grain should be reserved for my post with pictures and guesses as to the time frames for my 70s and 80s Zildjians.

But on the other hand, that Winnie dude can be trusted 100% all the way.

He's the man.

Anything you get from him you can take right to the bank.
