Going with the theory that "there is no such thing as a stupid question"...

I'm considering pulling the trigger on an late 60s Slingerland kit that appears to be from either the "Jam Session" or "Stage Band" set (single, dual-sided lugs similar to the Ludwig Club Date). Unfortunately it is missing the claws and tension rods on one side of the bass drum. I haven't seen many of these before (first one actually), and I have no idea if it is going to be a struggle to replace the rods.

Are there new versions of these longer tension rods? Although I'd love a torpedo style cap, I could survive with a square head (batter side, of course). Also not sure if I could use ones from the newer club date kits (although that cap mismatch might bug me).
