Shouldn't take more than a weekend.
Purdie Shuffle's BD Pedal Gift to Me
Scott - You don't have to use a new one. I told you that you can have the old one from my stash if you want to mess with it and keep everything original. Your call... let me know.
Good tutorial here about how to wrap the ball!

I'm sure there's other how to's out there. Cool project!

I talked to Jerry at Pro Drum today about these old beaters.
They did not have any today. Just new Vic Firths. $30.00
He said there was leather inside the old ones.
He was not sure what the center was.
Maybe a cork, or wood spool, wrapped with leather, wrapped with felt or lambs wool.
I would like the shaft. Excuse me.
What I mean to say is, I would like to get
the beater shaft and any parts for the Purdie beater.
I am going to rebuild it.
I think a combo of cork, leather and wool. For a light fluffy attack.
Purdie, I am going to have to send you something........
but I don't know what it is yet.

The video for tympani mallets was informative.
Thanks to Mr. Jerry Jenkins
Scott - LOL - we're not in jail... you don't 'owe' me anything! :p
I'll mail you the beater. I hope you do a thread on rebuilding the beater part. I want to see how all this turns out. Jumping2

So, who is the vintage pedal guru collector here? Is there someone with a room full of shelves and shelves of vintage pedals? Just wondering..
I was collecting them for a while. didn't really have the room for all of them though. scaled it down to wfl and Ludwig models. they are really a neat thing to collect though.
