Hi Nick and welcome to the forum.
I have found that if you use a brass hammer and slowly with small strokes hit the nail at an angle it will bend over. I typically put painters tape on the inside of the drum near where your trying to secure it so if you miss you don't mar the paint on the inside. then before that final hit to seat it completely you can remove the tape.
I am also now thinking about leaning towards using the screws that Rogers uses on their new drum line. Just need to find a source for them. Much easier than the nails.
Hi Nick...and Welcome to the forum!
As CTM above mentioned, I also used a small brass hammer to bend over the nails when attaching the "Rogers" badge to my clone Dynasonic snare drum. I put the shell on a hard surface, protected with a towel, and held the shell down to prevent the nails from backing out as I lightly hammered the nails. They came out great!

I've done a few more than a few over the years. I like to lay the nails back to the original indentation in the inside ply of the drum too. Essentially, I use the same techniques as the two mentioned above in the thread.
As Mark notes, you have to keep the badge tight to the shell exterior to get a firm seating of the nails. I don't use a brass hammer, but that is a good idea.
