OK another stupid question,Ive been picking up more vintage hardware for my vintage kit....won't be gigging with it so just want the stands to also be vintage for the vibe,instead of all the later model stands i own....

My question is,I picked up a WFL Flat base snare stand, and i'm curious,Where does the rubber mounts actually contact the snare??

Just on the hoop?? it appears that if you let it sit the way you would think, it hits/mutes the snare side head??

Here are photo's from the web that are NOT my drums but shows what i mean.......If it sits like this...it will be on the bottom head???

The rubber part of the snare basket is resting on the outer side of the rims, it isn't touching the bottom head at all, Don't place the stand tight on the snare drum it will interfer with the tone by choking the shell.
