Preserving vintage chrome

I have this chrome over alloy snare which is super rare in this condition - almost no pitting at all. I'm keeping it upstairs in my studio. It's a pretty stable environment. But I've heard people mention polish/wax for snares. I have used Mothers and a few other good auto chrome polishes on hardware - but I have never polished this snare. Just wondering what the experts recommend. Thanks all.

I'm no expert. Great snare!! I'd just go with micro fibre towel wipe down. First sign of any pitting then a light polishing with Flitz polish then top shelf car wax.

No not the age of this, but a complete teardown and polish is sometimes best. Gets the built up gunk cleaned up. Any questions, just ask!
