These look pretty nice, but I'm far from an expert regarding Premier drums. what do you guys think?
Premiers on craigslist
IMHO....They aren't that old, maybe 80's the oldest....and it's impossible to tell if they are the good Premier shells or the cheapo imported asian Luan ones, from the pic.
Ask the seller if the shells are painted black inside, if so...they are the cheap Luan shells and it isn't such a decent kit. But if they are nat'l wood, then they are the better shells ...
These look to me to be sometime around the Premier/Yamaha union-and not cheapo's.Probably XPK's,which are nice, solid mid-priced drums. Can't beat Premier chrome.....Stands are Yamaha derivatives,as is tom mount.
Yeah, that bass mount looks suspiciously Yamaha-esque, now that you mention it....
If they are XP shells (natural finish inside) then that's pretty good...
...NOT as good as if they were the trad'l Premier birch ones, but not bad...
....and $499 for a 2-up/2-down kit is a pretty good deal.
