Preferred way to remove wrap adhesive?

Soy Gel left on for about 45 minutes seemed to work a lot better today!

I just hope this outer Rocker ply is Maple or Birch, really want it to kind of match my Premier kit which is clear coated birch.

Hoping a clear coat will kind of even this thing out too. Maybe I should stain it.

Some minor dings transferred through the chrome wrap into the outer ply too...

Eric - It's mahogany. Don't use any stain or it will only get darker. The clear coat will darken it a few shades all by itself. Birch is a very 'white' wood, mahogany is a 'red' one, even with the clear-coat, the snare will look darker/redder than the rest of the kit. I'd just sand it, clear coat it and call it a day. Use it with any kit you wish. Natural wood finish drums look good with just about anything.

As it's mahogany, I agree with just a clear coat.

I just got back with some gloss Deft spray and coat 1 is on.

30 minutes between coats and it should be all done tonight and hardware put back on tomorrow or later tonight maybe. :)

Sand the shell with 00-00 (double-O) fine steel wool in between coats. It'll look like a 'professional finish' when you're done.

Ran to the store again and picked up the 00 and some quad ought as well for the final coat!

However I should report even though I'm spraying in the garage with the door open I'm still picking up some Deft effect :D

Well this is my first attempt at something like this even though I've done plenty of carpentry/finish work, it came out okay but I admit I didn't really sand or fix any of the blemishes. The Rocker shell also has some weird marks that I doubt could be fixed anyway, maybe from their production line or something.

Will let the finish cure a bit more before putting the hardware back on but I need 1 grommet to affix the Rocker badge back on if I go that route. Badge got slightly bent up getting it off.

That turned out great. Can't wait to see to see the finished product.

I really like it. And of course, even if it don't match perfectly, snares are allowed to be a bit different. :)
