Was just looking back over some of my past posts.... I actually ended up buying a 12" Vater "chop builder"... Totally would recommend this for home use, I love it.... It may be a little heavy for general lugging around?? but is a very nice pad indeed.... Thinking this is not much different to the Evans... but I do prefer the round shape...

Cheers

John

I have a Remo tuneable pad that I like quite a bit. However from the vintage side.... I also have a old Slingerland pad and really like the feel and rebound. I use both quite a bit.

Try out a Ram Pad, it has a real 10" drum head and a real steel drum rim. Plus you can add you own custom artwork under the drum head, like a logo, or your favorite rudiments. http://www.2coolpercussion.com/product-rampad.html[IMG][/IMG]

I use the HQ Real Feel pad, which I find has a slightly lower pitched sound than most pads, making it a little more pleasant to use for longer periods of time. I find the higher pitched pads get annoying after a while. I also use the moongel pad, which is great for wrist workouts.
