The problems noted above (see post #27 & #29) are still ongoing. The issues are intermittent as there are periods when the site operates as it should. It can change minute to minute. Very frustrating. Thanks for your efforts.

The slowness of VDF makes it so I don't even want to contribute anymore. Another annoyance is viewing multiple pictures from the same post. You can't scroll through them as we used to, but have to close each picture and then open another. With all due respect to David, who has worked tirelessly over the years with all this, I believe that to keep VDF relevant, the site needs to change. However, this may never happen and we all may have to accept that "it is what it is".

As an aside, it took almost 40 seconds for my reply to post!!

I have not posted for awhile. I am just sending you this response to see how long it takes for it to post.

Edit: I must have been one of the lucky ones. It posted immediately.

Seems to be moving faster now, back to normal...

I was seeing slow page loads, but these really fast timestamp on returns, so I was thinking it was some kind of server buffer issue???

Super slow today. Page loads were in excess of 30-seconds (11:55-ish PST). This post 'quote' was the fastest return for me today at ~20-seconds.

This edit request was better than 30-seconds; I wanted to add the orignal post the time it took to: submit post ---> page display, process was over a minute!

I just logged in and posted this reply. For right now, VDF is acceptable. Let's see how long it lasts!!!

We did have to reinstall the secure certificate and the server admin looked into the site speed. It appears every 4-5 months we have to clean things up and re-boot for all of the BOT activity. At any point in time we can have 6-12 members and 800 guests or more. Those are the people searching for drum history and of course the Phishing BOTS trying to create havoc.

This site runs incredibly slow since the changes happened, so bad, I hardly ever come here anymore. The wait time is awful. Drummerworld operates much faster. There's a wealth of knowledge here, but there's no question that participation has slacked off. The For Sale section seems useless. Post a nice drumset for sale and you get NO response at all. Indeed, I have never gotten a response on anything I've posted there. I think a major overhaul of this forum is necessary.
