I've used McGuire's polish for most of my vintage 60s wraps and have been extremely happy with the results. However, I just picked up some Premier drums as shown in the pics I posted and wonder if the McGuire's polish would also be appropriate for this particular finish. The woodgrain seems to show right through the finish on these.Any "words of wisdom" would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
They look pretty good from here!
Are there actual scratches or anything you need to buff out? If not, just a good cleaning and a coat of paste wax should shine them up. I apply a light coat by wrapping some cheese cloth type cloth around a chunk of the wax and wiping it on. Let dry 15 minutes, then buff out with an old t shirt. Switch to a clean piece of t shirt every so often, and it shouldn't take long at all to shine up.
If there are actual scratches, I have heard that automotive buffing compound can be used on lacquered drums like these. I have not tried this method.
