Please help me to identify the year and approx. value of Tama Imperialstars

Loading...

I have a vintage jet black 9 piece Tama Imperialstar drum Kit that I am potentially interested in selling. I would like to know roughly what year(years) the drums were manufactured and also the approximate value of the kit preferably as a whole but individual values would be fine too... just to get a ballpark idea of their worth. I have listed individual serial numbers for each drum below:

Sn - #114800

1 Tom (floating) - #007712

2 Tom(floating) - #007647

3 Tom(stationary) - #002245

4 Tom(stationary) - #002255

5 Tom(floating) - #002387

6 Tom(floating) - #002358

Floor - #114 958

Kick - #115 062

I can provide more details upon your request...thank you! Bowing

Having difficulty uploading pics on this site. Perhaps I could send them via Outlook.com to an expert?

Nice set you have there...These are the 80`s Made in Japan era Tama...Unfortunately, concert toms (single head) are not as popular as they once were, so, you will need to find the right buyer...Also, do you have the front bass hoop and hardware?

Here is a link to a Tama catalog page for more info (scroll down to the bottom):

http://www.vintagedrumguide.com/tama_drumset_1984-85.html

Here is a completed (sold) listing on Ebay that will give you a sense of value:

https://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-1980s-Tama-Imperialstar-giant-drum-set-2-bass-10-toms-2-snares-etc/222648290156?hash=item33d6df4b6c:g:csoAAOSwm9tZvu5u

My opinion is your set is worth $600-$800...I`m not a Tama expert though...Others may chime in with a more accurate assessment...

Cheers

Sorry grantro , those are late 70's. all of the toms & kick have re-rings and the serial #s are close to mine.

I have no idea on value as I never sell anything.. :Santa:

Interesting. I was told when I purchased them that they were from the 1990`s so this comes as a surprise, albeit a pleasant one as I tend to favor the music and musicians of that era. Thank you grantro and latzanimal for the info Excited

I would agree that $600 is about it. So, you are basically giving away the concert toms. The value is in the Bass drum that seems to be missing parts, the snare and the floor tom.
