A friend had a set in the mid 70's and in the 80's I used a set in a studio. To me the fiberglass had an unmusical sound. I vote nay.

I had a set in the 70's for about 4 months.

It's put me off Pearl ever since definite nay!

Very 1 dimensional sound-LOUD-and that's all.Do you need loud?I'd like one of those sets very cheap just to experiment with,like different heads and such.

Pearl MAPLE FIBERGLASS drums are fantastic.

Pearl WOOD FIBERGLASS drums are pathetic.

I can`t say it`s just because it`s Luan and Fiberglass or just the overall design- but no tuning range- chokes out high and deadens out flat low

Maple Fiberglass is, IMO, very worth the money. I play a 14x6.5 Maple Fiberglass Pearl snare all the time and it`s just great. The toms and bass drum I played on were really solid and resonant.

I say: "Nay".

I vote YAN...I hate playing by the rules.

Not all drums are created equal.Im sure even Pearl was allowed to churn out a stinker back then.Its because of companies like them that the drums today are so well made.They were creative,innovative,eager,and desperately trying to change the drum sound for something unique....My hats off to them!!
