Pearl Sessions Kit

Loading...

Greetings. While decidedly not vintage, I thought I would venture out and ask you guys if you would have an opinion on the sale value of this drum kit since you are the only experts I really have contact with these days. It is a 2006 Pearl Sessions Custom with maple shells. 22" kick, 10-12-14-16 toms. The drums were purchased for a single tour that ran for three months in 2006. They were transported in custom ATA style trunks so they were very well cared for. After that they have been in storage and then for the last 12 months have been on loan to friend so his son would have something on which to practice. The finish is really very attractive with only a few minor nicks or scuffs.

The kick drum, while having only 8 lugs, is hands down the best sounding kick I own. I do not know what the deal is with that except that it appears Pearl left a little additional wood on the top of the bearing edge to increase the amount of wood contact on the head. Regardless, the kick drum sounds fantastic. It always sounds to me like you are hearing and feeling a kick drum back through you audio monitors even though it is not mic'd up.

I am going to put this up on CL as soon as I determine a value. I greatly appreciate your time.

Here's one advertised at Guitar Center -used for $499.99 (4pc shell pack):

I used to have a early 2000's Pearl Session Select (22, 10, 12, 14, 16) which was real similar to yours I believe, although my bass had 10 lugs per side. I really liked the kit. I bought it used from a friend for cheap. He played in a metal band and never used cases when transporting, so it wasn't a "looker." I ended up selling it to another guy later with a rack system for about $300.00. I let it go cheap because of all the nicks and scratches in the laquer....

Oh! And I still feel like kickin' myself in the ^$$ for selling it! It was a great sounded kit!

Depending on the condition of yours, I would think $600.00 obo would be a fair start for a shell pack. Not an expert, just a fellow drummer... Keep on Pl

Thanks so much for the reply. That was price is right in the ballpark of what I was thinking. As with pretty much any drum kit, I almost hate to sell it for that, but at some point it is just stuff...stuff we love, but stuff none the less.

Yea I hear ya! I once had "big plans" for that kit, but after a while, it was just taking up space... alot of space, especially with it having the rack system.

I put it on Nashville C/L for $650. Kind of sad to see it go. An entire kit out the door for what it costs me to hire a sound man for a day. Ugh. :-)

If it doesn't sell there in a couple of weeks I'll put it on eBay. Maybe Lee County Music will buy it?! That would be great because I could really use some Pearl Super Hoops and Sessions lugs for an upcoming project kit!

Sorry, wrong thread.

Hilarious!! Yea, I saw the post earlier about the complaints with that "company." I think that is a perfect price to start with on that kit. Good luck on the sell!!
