Pearl Lugs

Loading...

Hi gang,

New to the forum, so hopefully posting in the right place?!

I'm after some of these Tom Lugs (stamped Pearl inside). Can any one shed any light, age, era, kits they originally came on? And of course .... where I might access some?

Cheers

Marty

Hello, I don't know much about them, but similar Pearl lugs for sale on ebay are described as 60s era lugs.

This lug linked below might be a similar match; I believe it has the same 1.5-in hole spacing. If not, ebay is the only source I know of.

once the brass ceases to glitter, and the drum looses its luster, and the stage remains dark, all you have left is the timbre of family.

Hello Martyb...and Welcome to the forum! The lugs in question were used on Pearl drums in the mid-to-late 60's, and quite a few other "stencil" kits built by Pearl. I've attached pictures of a Whitehall kit I had some years ago. It was a nice stencil kit built by Pearl.

As for where you can get some, that might be tough. Keep searching sites like eBay. The biggest issue may be that they won't be offered separately from the drum!

Those appear to be the Slingerland copy lugs. Drum Factory Direct sells new ones for less than $3 a piece. I'm assuming the hole spacing is 1.5"? That's was pretty standard on all these lugs. Many MIJ (Made In Japan) kits had these Slingerland copy lugs on them.

They were close, but not quite a match for the Slingerland lugs. They copied the style, but not an exact copy.

And I'm sure that the Pearl lug will have a slightly different spacing. That is a guestimation on my part!
