Pdp Cx Series

Hey looking to possibly sell my old drumkit if the price is right..

I am iffy about doing this but I am interested to see the value of the set.

Sizes are as follows:

22x18 Kick

10x8 Rack

12x9 Rack

14x11 Floor Tom (hanging)

No snare included, white marine pearl finish, shows some wear and tear from being on the road a bit, bu nothing too bad. About what you would expect to see from owning a drumkit for about 4-5 years.

I would post pics but it is easy to find images if you google the kit. It was manufactured in OCTOBER 2000 and still has the dates on the inside, very recent kit, pre X7 PDP..

PM me with offers, again.. not sure if I want to sell it, just want to see what you think it's worth.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but PDP kits of any "vintage" are not worth much on resale time. Worth about as much as a used Geo Metro.....read that again as...not much.

I was thinking the same thing. Based on your hesitations to even sell those and the tire kicking you are doing from a sellers position, I don't think any offer you get will be enough for you to let them go. What were they new, like 650 or so? I would be surprised if anyone offered over 300 for them, based on what I see on CL and EBAY auctions.

Well that's what I expected, I wasn't looking for a fortune, just some extra cash.

I don't think 400$ is unreasonable.

It will be a tough sell for 400 with no snare included. There are kits all the time on CL for 200 and up that have as much or more than yours does. I am going to just get to it here, not many people are on the market for their next PDP kit. Anyone looking at your drums just wants a cheap set of drums to play around with and that person will find either cheaper options with the same amount of gear or a bit more expensive options with more stuff included at the price point you are seeking. There is a 9 piece Pearl plus 4 Sabian cymbals, (I think) 2 snares and all the hardware for 650 on Pittsburgh Craiglist right now just as an example.

Just my opinion. Good luck with your sale!!

I wasn't calling your drums cheap, per se. I meant that your market will be people looking for cheaply priced drums and there will be lots and lots of options a bit above, right at and a bit below your pricing with possibly more to offer the buyer. People looking to spend three to four hundred on a set of drums are looking for the most bang (and pop, boom and crash) for their buck. You are only selling the bang and boom and the buyer will have to spend more money for the pop and crash.

Good luck with your sale, though. I am merely pointing out my view point. I honestly think you value them more than you will get by selling them and the obvious answer to me is that you just keep them and keep rockin' and rollin'!! Nothing wrong with that by any means!!

That link is a 5 piece set of PDP's, throne, cymbals, all the hardware needed to set 'em up and ten pair of sticks for 170 bucks. They may be a lesser model than his, but people spending that little of money don't much care which model they are, I would think.
