Paiste Stambul 65 20" Ride

So I got this cymbal for little less than 120 dollars. Seems like a good price to me.

It got no keyholing, weighs around 2000g and the original finish is still left at a few places. It's my first real vintage drumset cymbal so I was very curious about how it will sound.

It's very bright and less sophisticated than my Istanbul Mehmet Sultan crash - I guess that's what I could've been expecting from sheet bronze cymbal. BUT it sounds great anyway! It's quite loud, has a killer bell and crashes best from all rides I've ever tried, wich is just what I need. Someday, I'll probably replace it with some turkish cymbal, but I guess it'll stick with for a long time 'till that happens.

Overall, I'm happy!

Yes, $120 was a good price. These are cool and somewhat hard to find. They were basically a B8 alloy with what was to become Formula 602 hammering.

I would hardly call that a 'keyhole', either Excited

I feel that Paistes like to be cleaned,so I would clean that with Paiste cleaner in the ORANGE bottle............just my $0.02.

I have one of these also - I had a feeling that it was a predesessor to the Giant Beats but I wasn't sure - thanks for the confirmation! I'm also getting the feeling that it could go for more than the $120 that Gilnar paid for it.

I do not play it much but when I do it is a very versatile cymbal -
