Paiste 602, 22" -tiny crack :(

Loading...

Got my hands on a Great Cymbal today. However, when I looked real close I found this really tiny crack. I guess drilling a small hole were the crack ends is the best way to deal with this. Or, should I use a Dremel and make the hole larger (like a key hole?).

The crack can be seen at the 3 o'clock position just by the hole in both pictures.

I`d opt for drilling the small hole at the end of the crack rather than enlarging the center hole...How long is the crack?

Cheers

From Fortissimo

It's about 6mm long.

Yes, drill as small of a hole that is needed at the end of the crack to stop it from progressing...You will hardly even notice the hole when finished...

Also, the crack goes a little further then you think,so maybe drill back a hair longer then the crack, and use a small drill bit.
