A fellow forum member asked me if i have a 18" crash/ride id be willig to turn loose of cheap. I have this paiste 400 18" crash/ride I aquired. Is this any good and how much is it worth?

They came with some yamaha power v drums I got off of cl a while back. If he's interested in it I was thnkin around $40

What do you think?

Poppy, They were a cheap mid-range line of the 80's. The cheapest B8 cymbals, made in the German factory. Didn't sound too bad for the money, but they aren't my cup of tea. the 404's are the equivalent to them now but the 404's are more robust sounding to my ear, still not my cup of tea!

I agree w/ you, 400's were never very good...a bit underworked and primitive for my tastes. An 18" 400 worth maybe $65 or so, tops, on eFlay. $40 is a nice price to offer it for.

PST5's or 404's or 802's are significantly nicer than old 400's....but 400's are still better than a lotta other B8's (i.e. ZBT's or Sabian B8's, for example).[/COLOR]
