Paiste 2002 hi hats (1970s?) valuation

Loading...

Hey guys,

First post from a relapsed drummer. Going through my old kit at folks house, I came across my old hi hats. They are Paiste 2002 15" medium hi hats. From my research, I believe they are 1970s. Serial number is 927065. Any ideas of what these could be worth? Actually signed by Queen's Roger Taylor (which could decrease/increase the price I'm guessing.)

Maybe to be used as a reference but I paid $150 for my 14" 2002 sound edge hats, also from the 1970s.

But for 15" and signed by Taylor, probably at least $200. Hopefully, someone else can chime in.

Darn shame that you had him sign them on the top HH - which gets played by the tips. I would have had him sign the bottom - which never gets hit and tends to stay clean.

Those are likely worth more than 200 IMHO. The autograph will limit potential buyers, yet increase the value.

My guess would be 250+

I had a great day! Instead of sleeping in and wasting the day, I got up at 8 and I had all my slacking done by noon!

I'm not much of a Queen fan but a quick look around shows the average RT autograph photo going for $50-100. Here's 2 autographed cymbals.

The ebay auction hasn't sold but the Bohnams cymbal did. Those are pretty nice hats too. Maybe find the average price the hats sell for and add the autograph price in?

I don't know. If your a Queen fan maybe hold on to them? Could be a cool thing to display. ***Edit to add I see he's signed them to you. That might kill the autograph value a bit unless someone else named James buys them. ;)

Glenn.

Not a guru just havin fun with some old dusty drums.
