For storage (or cautious transport) the Galaxy bags work fine. I have one set in Galaxy bags and they seem to be fine but, all things being equal, I'd prefer to have one of the other three you mentioned. I've also used the cheap (made in China) Beato bags for some drums, also fine for storage and okay for transport if you're moving the drums in a car and only you are handling them. Really any bag will work okay for storage only, but the Galaxy's are better made than some.

H & B Tuxedo bags are a step up from the Galaxies but not as thickly padded as the Drum Seekers/Ahead/PR bags. Might be the best middle ground choice.

Why do people use bags for their snares ? (don't gimme that weight crap)

For storage, I'd go hardcase. I can't think of one reason my vintage drums would go in a bag. Moulded plastic are cheap compared to the risk.

I checked out the Galaxy and Tuxedo lines and I decided to go with Drum Seekers. More padding than Galaxy and Tuxedo and were less expensive than Ahead and PR. I did find that they were a little large so I bought the next smaller size such as a 4X14 bag for a 5X14 snare, 3X13 bag for 4X14 snare, etc. They fit much better and leave me a little more precious space. I like hard cases but again I'm very limited in space and the snares will be stored at home. Thanks.

Drum Seekers are definitely the best value in that type of bag with the faux lambswool lining. The only thing I don't like about them is the long floppy handle which is why I will sometimes fork out more money for an Ahead or PR bag. Of course the handle is a non-issue for a bag used primarily for storage.

K.O. I agree the handle is not my favorite but as you said they work for me.

If I remember right both the Galaxy bags and the Tuxedo bags have the same goofy handle design as the DS so it wouldn't have mattered.

I understand the purpose of the long floppy handle as it allows you to carry multiple drums at the same time...I never do that and the handle just makes it tough to control the drum as it almost drags on the ground.

I've used Tuxedo Bags for decades now. Starts to get pricey with all the kits I have! I tried a set of Galaxy bags for my 1967 Slingerland kit and like them allot. As for the handles, I have no issue with them.
