i'm trying to do something with my WFL snare. it's a nice old mahogany shell with maple reinforcing rings. a players snare, nickel plating and some hoodoo-voodoo duco finish that some dude sprayed on.
i'm not sure yet what to do with the finish; maybe sand it down to see what's under the duco?
anyway, for the moment i want to get it work properly. and here's the problem:
it has a p83 strainer that loosens after i start having fun on that skin!
i'm not a hardware wizard, don't know if there's some trick to beat the p83-system. Help2
thought about getting a nickel works strainer or something similar. but the shell has no extra holes and i hate to drill some. on the other side i like the looks of that old p83.
any ideas?
