Wow, wish I could be there. They were the first concert I ever went to back in the early to mid 70's at Madison Sq Garden. Saw them 5 times after that. Neal has a new band now, tried to get the organizers of the CT Drum show to have him appear as he lives in CT. Enjoy and post some pics please.

No Guru - I just love collecting & learning about vintage drums!

Some of my favorites from the kits in the collection
58 WFL New Yorker Blue Sparkle
67 Ludwig Hollywood Red Psychedelic
69 Ludwig Standard Red Ruby Strata
70's Ludwig BOP "Ringo" Kit

A few of my favorite snares
20's Leedy Black Elite
51 Leedy & Ludwig Knob Tension
58 WFL Buddy Rich Classic Blue Sparkle
63 Walberg & Auge Sea Blue Agave Green Pearl
66 Leedy Shelly Manne Blue Agate Pearl

You brought back some memories of the early '70s. I was at that Madison Square Garden show, and also saw them at Boston Gardens and the New Haven Coliseum (a clean-shaven cowboy band called ZZ Top was the opening band at that show).

I think it would be a big coup to get Neil to the CT Drum show, but that might be hard to do as he's now a big, high-end Realtor down in Greenwich. At least he's one rock star who really knew how to invest his money.

First band I ever saw, too! One of the older high school kids had to go with me to "chaperone"!

I think Neil was playing a chrome Leedy/Ludwig kit that night. Great memories!

Michael Bruce was my neighbor in AZ during the 80s and is a really nice guy .

Warning ... Avoid member statuscymbal here, vintage_collector on DFO , and americanpatriot10 on eBay. Email me for his name. All are the same shady guy who has burned me and a list of other members on both boards . He is also selling on Facebook too ..
