Opinion on Gretsch 120 Anniversary Snares

Loading...

I wanted to see what your opinions on Gretsch's 120th Anniversary Snare drums that were released in 2003?

I have had the opportunity to purchase some in the past and have passed, and a few have come my way recently.

2 in particular (same seller). Both were just stored away, one was the dark walnut snare (almost exact as the one that is currently on ebay) Asking $475, and the other one is the champagne sparkle snare, they want my best offer. Both come with paperwork, original heads, etc...

I'm looking to find out about your opinions on future collector value and overall market for these drums currently. I worked at a retail music store in 2003 that sold these, but I can't remember the retail price or our dealer cost. Any input would be appreciated about their overall value in our current market.

The photo attached is the one that is currently available on ebay buy it now ($435+25 shipping)

The drum on ebay was customized. The 120th anniversary snares never came with gold hardware, and new classic lugs... Very good eye. I noticed late last night.

The ones im looking at are true to the day they were shipped.

Just looking to hear opinions and views and I can't find much online.
