Oops, I did it again!

As many of you know, I like to experiment and try out different sounds ( cocktail drums as floor toms, bar chimes for heavy types of rock songs, marchers as rack toms, a modified cajon pedal striking the front of my bass drum with a foot pedal equipped with a bicycle brake cable etc.). The older I get, the more I like to wander outside the box. Last night at practice, I tried out a set of old Tama wooden hoops on my Supra just to see how the hoops sounded. I loved the sound and so did my band members! It was pure fun cross sticking with an old L.P. wood block on songs with a more calypso feel! Rim shots were unreal! I may have overdone it a bit and will hold back in the future but, to be honest, it was a blast! I know that I may revert back to my original rims in the future but, for now, these hoops will stay put! I'm now awaiting my Ludwig two legged flat based hi-hat stand to arrive. I have an idea for some double foot pedals! Just wondered if any of you feel the same about trying out new sounds. Thanks.

Buy another supra and keep the wood rims on it. 2 different animals without having to switch the hoops.

Keep fixing them up...
