Maybe your problems had something to do with the Italian customs regulations that prohibit import of "bells, musical instruments, or parts thereof"? They have no such regulation restricting exports, though.

Oh yes dealing with Customs is a problem when sending things..What that said i would not bid on the stand it could be as bad as sending things to the U.S....Mikey

Hey Kev, Don't know if it will break 1,500.00 maybe 600.00 the problem is the seller is in Italy post office is not that good when i use to ship to Italy that's why i don't ship to Italy anymore...You could run into the same problems on getting the part?...By the way for the guys who live on the west coast does anyone re-call Drum City in Hollywood Roy had 4 of these stands i got the one i have for 100.00 20 years ago...Mikey

Hey Mikey, I remember Drum City in Hollywood. My Dad and I went there in maybe 1968. It was on Santa Monica Blvd. east of Vine. I remember it being run by a guy named Pop. An older dude who wore a white dentist like smock.

Bought a used Speed King pedal there.

Good one Mikey

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=230610210644Wow, this Walberg & Auge double hi-hat is very cool. Read the description, some very interesting stuff...

This is pretty cool.

Why hasn`t anyone re-made this classic and updated it? It seems like the kind of niche that would sell. Get the right drummers` endorsing it and I bet they`d turn some units on these.

Got my first "kit" at Drum City in the late-1950s! My dad took me there...not sure how he knew about it. Bought used, non-matching stuff, but it all worked good. I used it through high school and until 1963 when I got the Ludwig Hollywood kit I still have.

Right On Dude, Dad's and Drum City, what a combo.

Wish they were both still here. My Dad probably asked one of his drummer English students where to go for drums. Probably my first drum teacher Bob Lipre. One other note. I have an 18-inch Blaemire snare shell previously owned by Andy Florio. Andy's Blaemire shells are now in the kits of Mendozart and Drumjinx. Thanks Andy

I used to go up every week or so when i was in town to see Roy Hearte and his sidekick "pop"A very good friend know Roy and Pops they were friends from the late 40s from about 1989-97 when roy closed his doors."pop" passed away in 1995..Pop's was the first one to show me how to remove the caps on the Ludwig speed king pedals with out screwing up the caps that was back in 1990..Did you ever see all of Roy's record collection? He even had his own label "Hollywood Records"..They use to record in the drum shop back in the day...Cool Jazz/Blues players...Drum city was soo cool to hang out at...Mikey
