I have a 1937 WFL tom, Zephyr lugs and nice tacked resonant head that I'd like to trade for an early 60s 9x13 Gretsch tom that has a damaged finish... wrap that needs replacing for example .. or no wrap at all and n extra holes in the shell.
My drum has some damage to the Dupont (DUCO) finish but it's still in usable condition. The tag is still there but is damaged. This tag... the William F. Ludwig tag... was only used for a matter of weeks so it's a bit of a rarity. Mr. Ludwig at the time was threatened with a lawsuit if he didn't remove the name Ludwig which Mr. Conn owned at the time. Ludwig changed his company name and WFL was born. Can't sue him for using his initials ????
