Everyone else got theirs in a glass case with armed guards, this guy`s been banging away at will for a few months. I`m so jealous.

I think the wrap looks like stupid old man pajamas. I'm not sure what the fuss is all about. ;)

Stop stringing and tuning your instrument, make music now.

Charlie Watts and Don Benett have the only known mostly complete sets. This one is complete. And condition is unmatched so far.

The only thing better that could happen is if they were still in the shipping packages.

Great to hear about the cymbal. A question about the BD heads, They look to be original but I can not find any pictures of the stamp on the heads anywhere on the web.

Can anyone tell me if they have seen this stamp before? Both heads have it but Reso head is fainter. It appears to say Ludwig & Ludwig ??? Selected Quality. Not sure it the ??? is Co or sons. It is a bit blurry.

I've read somewhere that Ludwig would hand select calf hides from the tannery and they would try to beat their competitors to the tannery to get first dibs. So 'selected quality' seems plausible.

Well they are going on a selected quality kit, so I would think they didn't take them off the line shelf. But with Ludwig back then,...ya never know. Does the BD reso head look factory ?

I`m convinced those heads came with it. The one's online mostly don't, if at all. Everyone's pretty much made them $30,000 kits. You don't have to. Do you have the cradle for the floor tom ? Yours is beyond those leagues.

Mike Currotto identified that logo in this post:

http://www.vintagedrumforum.com/showthread.php?t=62087 He claimed it was mid 20's so either he is mistaken or that head may not be original to the kit. Sure would be nice to hear from a true authority on this kit.
