Okay, So What's Up With This???$$$

Personally I'm no fan of this finish, but apparently some of you are. When I saw the bidding price on this, I couldn't believe it, not to mention that, (here in Canada anyway) the shipping alone is $500.00. It's not even got a snare included, it's a 68, and it's got the center tom post mount... can somebody explain to me what I'm missing here? Sure, it's in nice shape, but still...Thanks.

From past history of sold items, this seller specializes in high-end collectibles. Citrus Mod original is a hard to find and rare finish. There's probably some old hippie jonesing for that kit, or maybe at least a couple.

Its better to have people think you're an idiot, than to open your mouth and prove them wrong, unless you doubt yourself then speak away....

Yeah, hippies, turned high paid executives...

DaddyNowhere - Seems as I recall some hippies were "high" paid execs of there own businesses already in "high" school, if you know what I mean.

Something doesn't seem right.....

the circa 66 double tom mount......

natural interiors

round knob mufflers

fold out spurs

sounds like different time periods mixed together......

I am not a fan of the Psych and Mod Ludwig wraps. But, I like some drum finishes of other brands that are considered to be ugly by some people. I, however, will not pay ridiculously inflated prices for a set of my favorite brand drums in a love/hate finish.

No matter how far you push the envelope, it is still stationery.

One picture for posterity (when the ebay listing goes inactive).

Collecting information about the following for ongoing research projects:
Gretsch drums with serial numbers,
Ludwig Keystone and B/O badge drums with serial numbers and date stamps,
Ludwig Standards from 1968-73, and
Ludwigs with paper labels from 1971-72

Nice kit! Makes me want to hear "Crimson and Clover" over and over.

I'd buy it if I fell in a hole full of money.
