Oh No...Trixon Is Back From The Dead

From DrumBob

Everything old and weird is new again, it seems. To be displayed at NAMM 2020. I'm astounded. I know at least one member here who will be ecstatic. Whatever. To each his own.The MI industry is reissuing everything from the golden days of the 50's and 60's. Ovation solidbody guitars have even made a comeback. I don't know why, as they were flops in their day and have very little collector value.

The drums in some of the images look decent, but it must be very low end stuff. Only $1100 USD for a 7 drum "Elite" set including snare stand, cymbal stands, BD and hi hat pedals and throne. No unique shell shapes that I could see, and the prices are way too low to make me believe there is anything of real quality here.

I'm confused. I saw that website and was like, WHAAAAT? Where are the Speedfires and Telstars? I couldn't care less about the drums that are on that website. Wow. Those look like junk. So refresh me on this...Isn't this about them reissuing the old, Jetsons looking stuff?

Ok, so now I'm really confused.

It seems that Trixon drums already have a full line of cheap drums, Chinese made I have to think, so what do you mean that Trixon is returning? Look like they never really left. Are they coming back with a German built line of higher quality?

OOOhh okay. Thanks...I got it now. I thought they were going to reissue the older configurations...The one I have always known as the Telstar was the one with the conical shells -not the egg shaped bass drum. That one I always called the Speedfire -the one that came with the set of reversed concert toms. But the new reissued one that is shown in that link, is kind of a regular drum set except with the egg shaped bass drum. I don't think I'd be AS interested in that setup. I was hoping be able to eventually snag one of the old, conical bop kits...but oh well...carry on! ;)

Leave it to Remo to take this on. They are still the greatest drumhead company in existence, in my opinion. Good for them!
