North/Fibes snare drum?

Loading...

Was North building snare drums at the very end of their existence? I stumbled across this weird snare on facebook and it looks like a factory deal.

Those lugs are the same shape as the North lugs that eventually went to stingray drums when North closed up, Although North never had a double ended version on the trumpet shaped drums, That Ive seen.

Thats a Fibes SFT throwoff and bottom hoop. Id like to see the inside of the shell to see if maybe it was made by fibes.. But the drum isnt mine, like I say, its just a photo I found

Looks like we got this one tracked down on FB Bryan. These are kinda unique, as there don't appear to be many out there! I have no doubt they play/sound exactly as a Fibes SFT6909/COF, as that is what they are with different lugs! Very cool!

Yup TommyP, Roger North himself seemed to clear this one up. Pretty neat.
