The best drums ever made would be 64-70 rogers and camco from the same era, i think most would agree... but bill stevenson has endorsed n&c and hes one of the greatest drummers of the past 30 years!

I've got a N & C snare. I think it's a fantastic snare, and I paid a good bit for it. If you can grab a kit for $1500 that's a golden opportunity and I would snag it immediately if it's in good shape.Good luck.Stephen

But then I always think to myself, "geez, that $1,500 could go towards an even better vintage 60s Ludwig or Gretsch kit.." then I change my mind.

Yes I've had quite a bit of experience with Noble& Cooley drums.I own one of the Star Series sets. 6x10(height x dia. )6x12, 7x14,8x16,one ply shells, 16x20 ply bass drum. Also have some of the kits in question The CD Maples. 18x20 Bass, 16x20 Bass, 6x8, 8x8, 8x10,9x10,8x12,9x12,14x14,14x16 plus a couple of SS Snares,13" CD Maple Snare, and 14"Classic Alloy Snare. Very nice drums.Have them in both pressed hoops and die cast. Die cast hoops seem to give the drums a more defined sound. Anything specific you'd like to ask?

I'll try to get some pictures up as soon as possible. Just getting off the road. But if you go to the Noble & Cooley web page and punch in artist under the name Larry Scott you'll see one of the sets. Also if you go to Mikedolbear.com and scroll down to the bottom of the page you'll see a Star Series kit. Same as mine except I have two floor toms 7x14 and 8x16

I just purchased this Noble and Cooley Horizon kit yesterday. 20 X 14 ; 12 X 8 and 14 X 14 floor with legs. I already owned a 7 X 14 Classic SS Cherry shelled snare in the same finish.

These are maple shells with an inner ply of African Mahogany. These are absolutely beautiful sounding drums. The fit and finish is top notch. I especially like the lugs. They have a Delrin insert that locks in the tuning . The lugs are also springless. You will note they mount the suspension band on the bottom of the lug. This makes head changes much less of a bother.

The bass drum has legs similar to Yamaha's with minor cosmetic differences. The sets re supplied with your choice of finish ( gloss, Matte or satin or sparkle lacquer) , choice of hardware Color and hoop type (. Triple flange or Diecast ). Evans heads are standard. Coated G1 Tom batters and clear G1 resonants . Clear EQ3 bass drum batter and Black or white EQ3 resonant with port hole. The stock heads sound excellent on this kit. The bass drum needs no interior muffling IMHO. It is fat and thumpy without any additional muffling.

Noble and Cooley's Cool Mount is a superb idea. The tom and suspension mount just slips into the receiver without having to twist any wingnuts to attach the tom to the tom mount. It just slips into the receiver and slips out at the end of the night. These are excellent drums, as good as you could want.

I have a friend that has a N&C snare that sounds incredible. It's with out a doubt one of the best sounding snares I've ever heard in my life.
